Product specs and testing transparency
Which numbers American Wellness Authority publishes, where they come from, what we do not publish yet, and how to ask us for a spec.
Where our numbers come from
Every number we state about an AWA device comes from one of three places: the product page, the product manual or the label on the device. We do not round figures up, estimate figures we have not been given or borrow figures from another brand's device. Our numbers are the figures AWA publishes for its own devices. They are not an independent laboratory certification.
If a product page and the manual or label ever differ, the manual and label are the better source. Tell us, and we will check and correct the page.
What we publish
| What | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Wavelengths, LED counts, modes, warranty term and what is in the box | The Key Facts and FAQ sections of each product page |
| Irradiance at stated distances for the FX300 and FX500 panels | Irradiance by distance chart and the irradiance specs guide |
| Dose arithmetic from irradiance and time | Dose calculator and session time table |
| All AWA devices side by side | Compare AWA Devices |
| Returns, shipping and warranty terms | Return policy, shipping policy and each product page |
| Setup and use instructions | The manual with your device and the How to Use page |
An example of reading a figure correctly
A number only means something next to its distance. For the FX300 we publish 83.5 mW/cm² at 6 inches and 43.3 mW/cm² at 12 inches. For the FX500 we publish 94 mW/cm² at 6 inches and 73.8 mW/cm² at 12 inches. Do not compare one brand's figure at 2 inches with another brand's figure at 12 inches. The chart marks distances where we have not published a figure as "Not published". That does not mean zero.
What we do not publish yet
- Third party laboratory test reports. We have not published an independent laboratory report for our devices. When we do, we will link it here with the lab's name, the date, the method and the full results, including any result that is less flattering.
- Figures at every distance. We publish irradiance at specific distances for the FX300 and FX500 panels only. We do not publish figures for other devices or at other distances.
- Figures we have not checked. If our own documents disagree on a number, such as a dimension, a timer range or a battery rating, we hold it back until we have verified it instead of publishing a figure we are unsure of.
- Health outcomes. We do not publish results or testing about what a device does for your health. We do not make medical claims about our devices.
Where a spec is missing from a product page, assume we have not published it, not that it is good or bad.
A note on FDA clearance
Select devices carry FDA 510(k) clearance for specific, limited uses. Most AWA devices are sold as general wellness products, and clearance is not a spec of every device. For how to check any seller's claims, read How to check a device's FDA claims.
How to ask us for a spec
- Email contact@awarlt.com with the subject line "Spec request", or use the contact page.
- Tell us the device (for example FX500 or LX300), the spec you want, and, if it matters, whether you are a buyer, a reviewer or a journalist.
- We will reply with the figure and say where it comes from. If we have not published it or cannot verify it, we will tell you that plainly. We will not estimate.
If you spot a number that looks wrong, use the same address. Our editorial standards explain how we correct mistakes.
