How the AWA team writes, sources and updates the guides in our Learning Center and on our blog.
Who writes our guides
Our guides are written by the AWA team. We do not list individual reviewers, and we do not claim that a medical professional has reviewed any guide. Nothing we publish should be read as medical review.
A disclosure about bias
American Wellness Authority sells the devices it discusses. That is a potential bias, and you should weigh our guides with it in mind. Where a guide describes an AWA device, it is describing a product we sell. We try to explain specs and trade offs plainly, including what a spec does not tell you, so you can compare any device on the same terms.
How we choose sources
We prioritize government and regulatory guidance, including FDA materials and the eCFR (the electronic Code of Federal Regulations), and published technical standards. For AWA devices, we rely on our own product documentation, specifications and labels. When a guide cites a published figure, we try to say where it comes from and what it measures.
How we write
We aim for plain language. We define technical terms, show the arithmetic behind figures such as dose and irradiance, and state the limits of a specification. We do not promise outcomes, and we avoid language that suggests a device will change your health. Where a topic is uncertain or still being studied, we say so instead of filling the gap with marketing copy.
No medical advice
Our guides are educational. They do not diagnose, and they are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. If you have a health concern, or you are unsure whether a device suits you, ask a professional before you use it.
Claim policy
We do not make medical claims about our devices. Select devices carry FDA 510(k) clearance for specific, limited uses (face masks only). Most AWA devices are sold as general wellness products. Read each product page and label for what applies to that device. If a guide and a product label ever differ, the label is the better source.
How guides are updated
Each guide shows a Published or Updated date. We review and update a guide when:
- product details change, such as specs, modes or accessories;
- regulatory or standards guidance changes; or
- a reader flags an error.
Report an error or send a correction
If something in a guide looks wrong, outdated or unclear, please tell us through our contact form. Name the guide and the passage, and we will review it and correct it where needed.
