How to choose a home red light panel: 5 questions to ask before you buy
Most panels look the same in a photo. The spec sheet is where they differ. Here are the five questions that sort a good buy from a bad one, and how our two panels answer them.
1. What is the irradiance, and at what distance?
A number without a distance means nothing. Irradiance falls as you move away from a panel. We publish ours at stated distances: the FX500 reads 94 mW/cm² at 6 inches and 73.8 at 12 inches. The FX300 reads 83.5 at 6 inches and 43.3 at 12 inches. See the full irradiance by distance chart.
2. How big a space does it cover?
A larger panel covers more area from the same distance. If you want to use it from a chair or on a wall, check the size against your space before you decide.
3. Can I pay with my HSA or FSA card?
Yes. You can pay with an HSA or FSA card through Flex at checkout, or use any card. Eligibility depends on your plan, so check with your plan administrator if you are unsure.
4. What if it is not right for me?
You get 60 days to return it, opened or used, with no restocking fee. Read the return policy before you buy anything, from us or anyone else.
